**THE CLIENT**
We are currently seeking an experienced Automation Engineering Technician with FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) experience to join a dynamic team of a leading pasta manufacturing company based in Adelaide, South Australia.
**General Responsibilities**:
- Perform all maintenance duties electrical & mechanical under the direction of the Maintenance Team Leader or production team leaders, within the scope and abilities of this position.
- Be directly accountable and responsible for maintaining machinery and associated company equipment enabling high levels of safety, efficiency, quality and company output.
- Able to work under limited supervision and supervise the work of lower level employees and
- Perform Advanced trade skills in maintaining, constructing, altering or testing within any departments.
- Perform general PLC and SCADA programming for fault finding, fault rectification, new and existing machinery alterations.Maintaining programs for robotics and other automated equipment to ensure efficient operation of machinery, including respotting of pallet configurations.
- Assist in all manufacturing and organisational maintenance needs when required.
- Train lower level employees and assist non-trades employees in minor adjustments or maintenance when required.
- Maintain, operates and tests all safety equipment. Note: Accurate records must be kept.
- Undertake training to be able to perform the duties within the scope of this level.
- Must be available for call outs and additional hours as required by the position.
- NB: During shutdown periods leave will not be available and weekend work will be required.
- Perform project work including, programming, troubleshooting and commissioning as required.
**General Competencies**:
- Diagnosing and rectifying faults (PLC & SCADA)
- Writing and converting code
- Assisting electrical trades personnel with the Install of electrical apparatus (switchboards, motors, protection devices, control devices etc)
- Maintaining and repairing electrical systems (computers, PLCs etc)
- Commissioning of electrical and mechanical apparatus
- Assisting electrical trades personnel with the testing of electrical apparatus and circuits
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor of Electrical Engineering or similar
- Completed modules in PLC Programming
- Practical experience with Omron and Siemens PLCs
Annual income for standard 38 hour week excluding superannuation Range ($90,000 - $100,000) per annum commensurate with industry rates, skills and experience.
