True Blue Glass are seeking a hands-on and knowledgeable Operations Manager to join us on a full-time basis. This department head position will oversee our day-to-day glazing operations, managing a skilled team of tradesmen while ensuring all work is delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.
Duties & responsibilities:
* Report to senior management and lead a team of 6-8 glaziers to uphold optimal productivity
* Provide mentorship and support to help tradespeople and apprentices develop their skills and capabilities
* Complete accurate quotes based on site notes, plans, and inspections, and oversee material ordering and stock control
* Manage job scoping, glass selection, and workflow through to completion including variations and follow-ups
* Build stronger relationships with customers, builders, suppliers, and insurers
* Ensure all jobs are completed safely, on time, and to quality standards while maintaining WHS compliance
* Handle complaint resolution professionally and effectively
* Help the team improve processes and boost efficiency across the department
* Contribute to recruitment and workforce planning initiatives
* Track department performance and use the data to make informed decisions
Qualifications & capabilities:
* Sound knowledge of the glass and glazing industry
* Strong leadership and management skills befitting a glazing operations business
* Excellent administrative and organisational abilities with capacity to manage multiple jobs simultaneously
* Ability to provide concise written communications with customers, team members, and stakeholders
* Understanding of WHS requirements and Australian Standards AS1288
* Familiarity with job management software is advantageous
* Sharp problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
