About the Role
As Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) you will play a key role in clinical leadership, service coordination, and operational management within the SECU (Secure Extended Care Unit). You will support the delivery of person‐centred care, promote recovery‐focused practice, and ensure compliance with legislative, policy and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide clinical leadership in assessment, care planning, intervention and evaluation
* Support the Nurse Unit Manager with staffing, resource management and daily operations
* Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated, consumer‐focused care
* Promote open and transparent communication with consumers, carers and stakeholders
* Support staff through supervision, mentoring and performance development
* Ensure compliance with mental health legislation, national standards and organisational policies
* Contribute to audits, reporting and continuous quality improvement initiatives
* Oversee clinical documentation and ensure accurate, compliant record‐keeping
* Promote a safe working environment and adherence to occupational health and safety requirements
* Support service development and implementation of improvement initiatives
About You
You are an experienced and confident mental health nurse leader who thrives in a complex environment. You bring strong clinical expertise, leadership capability and a commitment to recovery‐focused care and continuous improvement. You demonstrate integrity, compassion, adaptability and a collaborative approach to team‐based care.
Key Requirements
* Registered Nurse Division 1 with a postgraduate qualification in mental health nursing and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
* Demonstrated experience in senior clinical leadership roles
* Strong understanding of mental health legislation, standards and service delivery frameworks
* Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop staff
* Highly developed communication, problem‐solving and decision‐making skills
* Commitment to recovery‐focused practice and to reducing restrictive interventions
* Current Victorian Driver Licence
