About the Role:
The position of Consultant Psychiatrist is a senior leadership role within the Adult Mental Health Program. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and ensuring that consumers receive high-quality care in a safe manner.
This role spans two community sites in Shepparton and Seymour, where the Consultant Psychiatrist will provide treatment and care for adult consumers in a community setting.
Key responsibilities include developing teams to deliver integrated services, working with stakeholders such as managers and nurse unit managers, and promoting relationships between departments and agencies.
The Consultant Psychiatrist will also supervise RANZCP trainees and medical students from the University of Melbourne.
In addition to this, GVAMHS has a dedicated Lived Experience Workforce strategy which includes employing Consumer Consultants, Carer Consultants, and Peer Support Workers.
These roles aim to provide opportunities for consumers to input into planning, development, delivery, and evaluation of mental health services.
**Division and Team:**
Goulburn Valley Area Mental Health Service (GVAMHS) provides mental health services across the age span over a catchment area covering five local government areas.
