Tronox is a fully integrated titanium minerals producer and pigment manufacturer. Across our Australian operations, we extract and process rich mineral sands into a range of valuable products including ilmenite, zircon, rutile and titanium dioxide pigment which are then exported to international markets. Tronox is developing a new business arm involving the processing of Rare Earth minerals, from mineral sands sources.

About the Role
Based in Fremantle and reporting to the Project Controls Manager, this opportunity is being offered on a full‐time 12 month maximum term contract, with the potential for permanency.
You will lead the cost management function and ensure the project maintains a robust, transparent, and defensible cost baseline throughout its lifecycle.
The role also has a reporting relationship to the Tronox Finance organisation.
Your role blends methodology leadership with hands‐on cost engineering, including:
Cost Governance & Methodology
* Establish and maintain the Cost Management System (CMS), including WBS and CBS structures.
* Develop and embed cost control standards, procedures, and reporting frameworks.
* Provide expert guidance to project managers and contractors on cost practices.
* Develop point estimates, contingency assessments, and cost flows.
* Integrate estimates with schedules to support phased budget release.
* Review and validate baseline budgets for approval.
Cost Control, Commitments & Procurement
* Manage commitments, accruals, and expenditure tracking using SAP and Coupa.
* Verify contractor progress claims and invoices.
* Support procurement with scope documentation and purchase order alignment.
Forecasting, Reporting & Change Control
* Run automated cost forecasts and validate against trends and risks.
* Manage project change requests and implement approved changes.
* Produce month‐end cost reports, variance analysis, and Earned Value metrics.
* Lead cost close‐out, benchmarking, and lessons learned.
* Support commercial and project leadership with insights and recommendations.
About You
You are a commercially minded cost professional with the confidence to challenge assumptions, the discipline to maintain cost integrity, and the communication skills to influence stakeholders across engineering, procurement, and project leadership whilst building respectful relationships.
* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Economics, or similar
* 8+ years in cost control, project controls, or financial analysis
* Strong budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis capability
* Advanced Excel and working knowledge of SAP
* High attention to detail and analytical rigour
* Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
* Experience with SAP, Coupa, Oracle Unifier
* Exposure to Earned Value Management (EVM)
* Background in mining, industrial, or major capital projects
* Ability to interpret drawings and Bills of Materials
