Personal Assistant for Young Person with Autism
A family service provider in Launceston is seeking two personal assistants to support a 13-year-old boy with Autism.
1. To enhance his communication, confidence and life skills, providing one-to-one or small group care that caters to his individual needs.
2. Enjoy outdoor activities together such as sports, swimming or going on walks.
This role involves working closely with the young person’s family and other professionals involved in their care. It requires patience, understanding and creativity when developing strategies to promote learning, independence and inclusion.
Candidates should have some experience of supporting children or adults who require assistance due to disability. This could include knowledge gained through education courses (e.g., NVQs/Diplomas) plus relevant voluntary work/vacations/training within your employment history – let us know how these experiences might transfer over!
