About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Science Teacher (Chemistry or Physics) to become a valuable addition to the team at St Johns College Dubbo. The teacher in a Secondary Catholic School is someone who can collaboratively develop and implement quality curriculum programs relevant to the science curriculum while creating a nurturing and organised learning environment for their students.
We are seeking a Teacher who understands and commits to supporting the mission and ethos of Catholic education within the school by:
* Creating a learner‑centred supportive and cooperative learning environment aligned with curriculum policies
* Developing and implementing quality curriculum programs using effective teaching methods; assess and report student progress
* Using inclusive teaching strategies and adapt practices for equitable education
* Analysing student assessment data to identify learning barriers and encourage improvement
* Engaging in ongoing professional development to enhance student outcomes
* Collaborating with school leadership staff and contribute to school life
* Providing student supervision and assist in organising extracurricular activities

About You
We are looking for someone who can address the following criteria:
* Relevant tertiary qualifications and current NESA accreditation
* Experience in teaching Science across various year levels
* Ability to teach Chemistry and / or Physics
* Appropriate tertiary qualifications and accreditation to teach in NSW
* Ability to teach Science across Stages 4-6
* Strong classroom management skills creating a positive learning environment
* Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
* Experience using technology to inform track and report student learning
* Deliver outstanding educational services by tailoring your lessons creatively to meet each students needs.
* Design programmes and strategies to address the educational needs of our students.
* Expertise in managing student behaviour in a way that supports learning
* Commitment to the development of a self‑improving school culture
* Understanding and commitment to the ideals of Catholic education
* Passion for delivering high‑quality engaging lessons tailored to diverse learners
