We are looking for a Head Chef to manage the smooth operation of the commercial kitchen and dining service. The dining experience of our residents is a significant part of the Inspirit model of care. You will have direct reports of Sous Chef and Hospitality Assistants so previous leadership experience within a commercial kitchen, preferably in aged care is preferred. This role reports to the Hospitality Manager. This is a fabulous opportunity to work in a beautiful new home of 102 beds.
The key focus areas of the role are
Planning and preparation of fresh and nutritious meals for residents in line with their dietary needs and wantsManaging all resources within the kitchen including equipment and food supplies within a budgetMaintaining a hygienically clean kitchen that is fully compliant with the aged care quality standardsConsulting with residents on menu design and meal timesPreparation of texture modified diets and supplementsEnsuring all meals are visually well presentedCollaboration with Concierge to provide food for special events
To be successful in this role you’ll need
A heart and passion for providing high quality care to the elderlyStrong customer-centric approach and relationship building skills Certificate IV in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) Demonstrated leadership experience Ability to build relationships with older people Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of workplace health and safety Understanding of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) is preferredCompetent using computer systems, including Microsoft Outlook and Excel
