The opportunity & how you will make an impact.
As an Associate Director at Urbis, you will play a key role in delivering rigorous, evidence-based advice to public and private sector clients, while building long-term relationships and supporting business growth. You will lead the delivery of complex projects, ensuring work is completed to a high technical standard, on time and within budget.
Drawing on your economic expertise, you will undertake and oversee socio-economic analysis, cost–benefit analysis and market assessment to inform strategic decision-making across a range of sectors. You will contribute to business cases and investment frameworks where required, alongside the development of economic strategies and action plans that support long-term economic and community outcomes.
This role is well suited to an experienced Senior Consultant ready to step into a leadership position, or an Associate Director seeking broader economic advisory exposure. Experience across renewable energy, industrial and innovation precincts, employment lands, or public infrastructure will be highly regarded.
This opportunity is open to candidates across all Urbis office locations (NSW, VIC, WA and QLD).
In this role, you will:
* Deliver high-quality market research and economic/property analysis across a diverse range of projects
* Build and maintain strong client relationships to generate new business opportunities
* Conduct socio-economic and cost–benefit analysis
* Author business cases and investment logic maps
* Develop economic development strategies and action plans
* Lead project management activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation
* Support and mentor staff, fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-performing team culture
* Collaborate with other business units to identify synergies and support business growth
* Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of workplace health, safety, and compliance practices
About you.
We are looking for talented professionals who are purpose-driven, collaborative, and thrive in high-performing environments. You will ideally have:
* Proven experience in consultancy, ideally within the property or economics sector.
* Strong commercial acumen with the ability to manage contracts, budgets, and deliverables independently.
* Excellent technical skills, including advanced Microsoft Office capabilities (Power Pivot, DAX, Index/Match).
* Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills, with a track record of mentoring and developing teams.
* A solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and confidently.
