Opportunity
Beca’s Power business operates as a combined Asia Pacific business, working collaboratively across Australia, New Zealand, Thailand and Indonesia, delivering renewable energy projects from scoping to construction support.
Responsibilities
* Complete detailed design and implementation of protection and controls systems for distribution, sub‑transmission and transmission substations (HV 220 kV & EHV 500 kV).
* Conduct fault studies using industry‑standard software.
* Lead engineering teams, providing coaching, mentorship and on‑the‑job training.
* Deliver concept and detailed designs, reviewing secondary and protection schemes.
* Provide technical advice to clients for project scoping, design and delivery.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and perform quality checks.
Qualifications
* Deep understanding of HV power designs and protection relay technology.
* Experience leading teams and coaching emerging engineers.
* Strong stakeholder communication skills.
* Motivation to learn and grow.
* Creative problem‑solving skills.
* Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical subject.
* Progress toward or achievement of Registered Professional Engineer or Chartered Professional Engineer status.
* Experience in an engineering consultancy (advantageous).
