Workplace Rehabilitation, Registered Psychologist

At KINNECT we are committed to supporting our clients who are experiencing challenges in their professional lives due to psychological injuries to return to work. That's why we are seeking a dedicated Workplace Rehabilitation Psychologist to join our team and assist in facilitating the rehabilitation and successful return-to-work of our valued clients.

Let the Journey Begin

As a Workplace Rehabilitation Psychologist, you will play a crucial role in helping our clients overcome barriers to returning to work following injury, illness, or psychological distress. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to assess individuals' needs, develop personalized rehabilitation plans, keeping the rehabilitation plan on track, driving to ensure the successful reintegration of our clients back into the workplace. We have currently had an increase in demand for both same employer and new employer services. Therefore, you may be working with clients to identify new employment opportunities goals through vocational counselling and completing vocational assessments. In addition to supporting clients with job-seeking and job placement services to obtain new employment in line with their capacity for work, experience, and the local labour market. Additionally, you will offer counselling, education, and skill-building interventions to enhance clients' coping strategies and resilience.

Key Responsibilities

* Conduct comprehensive assessments of our clients cognitive, and psychological functioning to identify barriers to returning to work.
* Collaborate with medical practitioners, treating health professionals, employers, and other stakeholders to develop individualized rehabilitation plans tailored to clients' unique needs.
* Provide evidence-based interventions, including cognitive-behavioural therapy, mindfulness techniques, and stress management strategies, to support clients in overcoming challenges and building resilience.
* Offer counselling and education to clients on topics such as PTSD, managing workplace stress, and fostering a supportive work environment.
* Monitor clients' progress throughout the rehabilitation process, adjust intervention strategies as needed, and provide ongoing support to facilitate successful return-to-work outcomes.
* Completing adjustment to injury counselling to help clients understand their injury and support them to identify and implement coping strategies.
* Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes in accordance with professional standards and regulatory requirements.

Hear from the Team

I really enjoy the flexibility and the diverse range of injuries and diagnoses I work with in Occupational Rehab at KINNECT. While it's not your typical path psychology role, it has given me the opportunity to develop an entirely new skill set, including motivational interviewing and micro-counselling, which I use daily. One of the most valuable skills I've gained is the power of observation—you can learn so much just by watching how people interact and respond.

One of the biggest highlights for me is the incredibly supportive team. It makes a world of difference to work in an environment where collaboration and encouragement are part of the culture. I initially found my way into Occupational Rehab right after university by chance, but what's kept me here is the diversity of cases and the continuous opportunities for learning and growth. The mentorship and support I've received have been instrumental in shaping both my personal and professional development, and I'm grateful to be part of such a dynamic and evolving organisation. - Geordie M., Registered Psychologist
