You are a skilled professional seeking a new challenge? We have an opportunity for a hands-on Workshop Coordinator to lead a small team and keep the fleet in good condition.
This is a key role within our organisation, responsible for both coordination and hands-on work. The successful candidate will be able to motivate and hold standards for their team.
The Key Responsibilities:
* Leading and mentoring workshop staff, setting daily priorities and standards
* Creating a positive, safe and productive workshop culture
* Scheduling and coordinating maintenance and repairs for light vehicles, small plant and heavy equipment
* Implementing and managing preventative maintenance programs to reduce breakdowns
* Conducting inspections and quality checks on completed work
* Monitoring inventory, ordering parts and working with procurement to control costs and downtime
* Working closely with operations and site teams to ensure equipment is ready when needed
The Ideal Candidate:
* Trade qualification in the relevant field
* Proven experience as a Workshop or Maintenance Supervisor/Coordinator
* Strong technical knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, diagnostics and civil equipment
* Solid planning and organisational skills to manage schedules and competing priorities
* Welding skills, plus prep and painting knowledge
* Strong leadership and communication skills – able to coach, motivate and hold standards
* Ability to problem-solve under pressure and prioritise breakdowns without losing focus
