The Role We're looking for a passionate and skilled Soundhouse Technician to join our vibrant music team at Caulfield Grammar School.
In this hands-on role, you'll support our music staff and programs across audio production, music technology, and academic assistance for VCE/VET Sound Production courses.
Your expertise will help bring student creativity to life and ensure our music spaces run smoothly.
This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute meaningfully to our school community and enhance the student experience in a 12 month, fixed-term (12 hours a week) during term-time only.
Due to operational needs, there may be additional hours required during school holidays which be additionally compensated.
Key Duties Prepare classrooms with the required equipment and instruments Tidy any activities/classrooms, cabling and seating as required Note any faulty/missing/un-useable equipment In-class support and guidance with occasional delivery of VET concepts/specifics Provide 1:1 support to students, including use of ProTools and similar software Supervise and guide students through PA setups and procedures Assist Soundhouse Manager in maintaining all Soundhouse and classroom imaging/lab creation Set-up and maintenance of all electronic resources and file management Support class staff with class computer introduction and software/apps Assist with setup, sound check and pack down for live student performances Model and live the Caulfield Grammar School values and behaviours.
Skills and Experience Certificate III in Music (Sound Production) or Diploma of Music (any specialisation) or higher Experience in an Education Environment is desirable Experience in PA/Audio Environments Studio Recording experience is an advantage Tertiary qualified or equivalent Hold or willing and able to obtain an Employment Working With Children Check.
