Overview
Newcastle Private Hospital is seeking Registered Midwives to join our growing team – working across the Antenatal and Postnatal wards, in our Maternity Assessment Unit, Caesarean lists, Birthing Suites or with our Special Care Nursery. We have Full-time, Part-time and Casual work available.
The Role
An opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Registered Midwife to join our team. We are looking for an experienced midwife who is committed to the delivery of woman-centred care in the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal periods. You will have the prospect to work on our antenatal ward, in our Maternity Assessment Unit, our Birthing Suites, Postnatal ward, Cesarean lists and/or in our beautifully renovated Special Care Nursery.
Essential Criteria
Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Midwife
Current NSW Working with Children Check
Minimum of 2 years' recent experience working as a Registered Midwife in similar roles
Demonstrated ability to advocate for and implement individualised woman-centred care
Sound clinical decision making and problem solving skills
Demonstrated professional manner when working with complex situations
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Flexibility to work a seven-day roster including night duty
Basic computer skills

Staff in patient contact roles will be required to provide proof of immunity to specified infectious diseases as a Category A Healthcare worker.
If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope and NSWNMA/ANMF NSW Nurses and Midwives' Enterprise Agreement 2020- 2024, a salary ranging from $35.46 - $49.79 per hour.
