**About the opportunity**
The Sydney School of Architecture, Design and Planning is currently seeking a **Lecturer in Urbanism**to join it's dynamic team. Working alongside world class researchers and teachers, you will be part of a supportive and dedicated cohort of academics focused on delivering innovative research and teaching in the field of Urbanism.
Our Discipline of Urbanism is concerned with the design, characteristics and processes of urbanism and the policy and planning solutions proposed to create better cities. We embrace an integrated and multidisciplinary approach to the theory, policy and design of how we make and shape cities. We have strong research concentrations in the fields of housing, smart cities, and place. Our academics teach into undergraduate and postgraduate programs on urbanism, urban and regional planning, and urban design.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- coordinate and teach units the urbanism discipline
- make a research contribution to urbanism
- contribute to the governance of the discipline, School and University.
**About you**
- a completed PhD in Urban Planning or cognate disciplines
- a demonstrated track record of teaching and peer reviewed research publications in Urban Planning and wider urban studies
- evidence of excellence in teaching across diverse modes of teaching
- a developing industry network.
