Real world impact
Marketing and Student Recruitment, led by the Chief Marketing Officer, drives QUT's brand strategy and student attraction efforts. This includes student recruitment, digital and web strategy, creative and brand, and marketing partnerships. Our work connects QUT with future students and partners through data-led, insight-driven campaigns and engagement.
The department sits within QUT's Engagement Portfolio and reports to the Vice-President Engagement. The Portfolio is responsible for driving QUT's external engagement, communication, and marketing, alongside alumni relations, government engagement, media and more. Together, these teams build QUT's national and global profile and strengthen connections with students, partners, and the broader community.
What you need to succeed
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
Education, training and/or experience equivalent to a postgraduate degree in marketing, communications or related discipline, combined with extensive relevant leadership experience.
Proven success in leading integrated marketing with deep insight into customer experience in a large and complex organisation.
A strong track record in brand leadership and digital engagement, including managing large-scale campaigns, content strategies, and enhancing customer journeys across all events, platforms and channels.
Demonstrated experience leading diverse, high-performing teams through growth and change, with a focus on collaboration, innovation, and professional development.
Expertise in using analytics, insights, and market research to inform strategic decisions and drive growth.
Well-developed financial acumen, including managing large budgets, overseeing procurement processes, specialist agency management, and evaluating impact and investment across strategic initiatives.
Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence across organisational levels and build alignment in complex settings.
Demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, and improving access to education, with the ability to embed these principles into marketing and recruitment practice.
