Agresta Nominees Pty Ltd is one of Australia's premium flower farms located in Clyde in VIC. They seek an experienced Flower Grower to join their team.
The Role
The annual salary is set between $73,500 to $75,000, depending on experience plus superannuation.
Responsibilities
Plan and coordinate flower production schedules based on seasonal conditions, market trends, and customer demand
Select and source suitable flower seeds, seedlings, bulbs, and plant stock for commercial production
Prepare soil and growing media, and implement effective planting methods tailored to flower species
Monitor crop development and manage cultivation processes including fertilisation, watering, pruning, and harvesting
Identify and control pests, weeds, and diseases through safe and effective pest management and biosecurity practices
Oversee daily farm operations including grading, bunching, packaging, storage, and dispatch of cut flowers or potted plants
Maintain and operate irrigation systems and ensure optimal water usage and crop health
Plan and supervise maintenance of farm infrastructure, equipment, greenhouses, and machinery
Record and analyse data on crop performance, inputs, costs, and yields to guide future planning
Manage inventory and ordering of farm inputs such as fertilisers, chemicals, and packaging materials
Monitor flower market activity, buyer feedback, and pricing trends to align production with demand
Supervise and train farm workers and seasonal labourers, ensuring adherence to workplace health and safety standards
Participate in budgeting and general farm business management activities as required
Requirements
At least 3 years' experience in cultivating and maintaining diverse flower species in both open field and greenhouse settings
At least 3 years' experience in plant propagation techniques, including cuttings, grafting, division, and seed propagation
At least 3 years' experience managing pest and disease control
At least 3 years' experience in soil preparation, fertilisation programs, and monitoring of soil health indicators such as pH and EC
At least 3 years' experience operating horticultural and farm equipment
At least 3 years' experience applying sustainable and water-efficient farming practices in commercial floriculture
Physically fit and able to perform manual work outdoors in all weather conditions
Strong organisational skills for seasonal planning, harvest scheduling, and order fulfilment
Attention to detail in flower grading, bunching, and post-harvest care to maintain quality
Ability to work independently or in small teams, often under time-sensitive conditions
