Position Overview:
The Restrictive Practice and Compliance Manager is responsible for supporting organisational compliance with NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission standards, with a particular focus on restrictive practices, reportable incidents, and continuous improvement across services. This role ensures that all practices align with legislative requirements, uphold participant rights, and promote the highest standards of ethical and person-centred care.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee and monitor the use of restrictive practices to ensure compliance with NDIS and state-based legislation.
* Support behaviour support plan reviews and the implementation of least restrictive practices.
* Manage the process for reporting and investigating incidents in accordance with NDIS Commission requirements.
* Regularly review and update organisational policies, procedures, and compliance frameworks.
* Provide guidance and training to staff on compliance obligations, incident response, and restrictive practice protocols.
* Liaise with Behaviour Support Practitioners, Support Coordinators, and management teams to ensure compliance and effective documentation.
* Conduct audits, risk assessments, and internal reviews to identify non-compliance or improvement opportunities.
* Maintain accurate registers and documentation for reportable incidents and restrictive practices.
* Support the preparation of submissions, reports, and correspondence with the NDIS Commission and other regulatory bodies.
Key Selection Criteria:
* Demonstrated knowledge of NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Framework and Restrictive Practice legislation.
* Experience in compliance, quality, or incident management within the disability, aged care, or healthcare sector.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
* Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
* Relevant tertiary qualification in Disability, Social Work, Psychology, or related field (desirable).
Hours:
Part-time: 2 days per week up to 5 days where required.
