Customer Service Officer - Public Sector
Location: Parramatta, NSW Pay Rate: $268 per day + super Contract: 4‑month contract with potential to extend and permanent opportunities
We are currently seeking a motivated and customer‑focused Customer Service Officer to join a public sector organisation based in Parramatta. This is a 4‑month contract role, with the possibility of extension and potential permanent opportunities for the right candidate. The role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced service environment and is committed to delivering high‑quality customer outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Answer, respond to and process inbound and outbound customer calls in line with agreed business objectives and customer service guidelines to maximise customer satisfaction.
* Manage and process customer enquiries across multiple communication channels, including email, post and fax, within agreed service standards.
* Maintain a consistently high level of courtesy, patience and professionalism when interacting with customers and colleagues, in accordance with the Code of Conduct
* Work collaboratively with peers and management to achieve performance measures within a strong team‑based culture.
* Meet and exceed KPIs as outlined in the scorecard and aligned to organisational priority plans.
* Take accountability for performance by contributing to personal learning plans and continually enhancing knowledge of business processes, procedures and systems to support continuous improvement.
About You
* Proven experience in a customer service or contact centre environment (public sector experience highly regarded)
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and communication channels effectively
* A team‑oriented mindset with a commitment to quality service delivery
* Willingness to learn and adapt within a structured, process‑driven environment
