Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Rope Access Painter role based in Hervey Bay, QLD. The Rope Access Painter will perform preparation and painting of building exteriors and structures at height using rope access techniques and equipment. Daily tasks include surface preparation (washing, scraping, sanding), application of primers and topcoats, and touch‐ups to achieve a high‐quality finish in line with company standards. The role also involves safely setting up and inspecting rope access systems, conducting visual inspections of surfaces and fixtures, and reporting any defects or safety concerns. The Rope Access Painter will follow WHS procedures, use appropriate PPE, maintain tools and equipment, and collaborate with the site team and supervisors to meet project deadlines and client requirements.
Qualifications
* Proficient in Working at Height / Work at Height practices, with a strong focus on safety and compliance.
* Demonstrated Rope Access experience (IRATA or similar certification highly regarded) for accessing and working on elevated structures.
* Experience with Window Cleaning and exterior surface cleaning at height using rope access or related methods.
* Ability to perform Inspection of building surfaces, coatings, and access equipment, and accurately report findings.
* Solid commercial or industrial painting experience, including surface preparation and use of various coating systems.
* Familiarity with WHS regulations, safe work method statements, and use of PPE in high‐risk environments.
* Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and ability to work in varying weather conditions and confined or exposed spaces.
* Effective communication skills and ability to work cooperatively within a site team and follow supervisor instructions.
* Relevant trade qualification or equivalent experience in painting or coatings preferred.
* Current driver's license and ability to travel to different job sites as required.
