We are looking for a skilled Paint Technician to join our team. This is a permanent, full-time position that involves working on various surfaces, applying paints and coatings, and ensuring high-quality results.
Responsibilities:
* Read blueprints and instructions to determine the type and amount of work required
* Prepare work areas with scaffolding, covering fixtures, and other necessary preparations
* Mix, apply paint to various surfaces, and complete touch-ups
* Understand and complete work to specifications, mix correct ratios of two-part paint coatings, and manage consumables to avoid wastage
* Select paints, varnishes, and stains for surfaces using brushes, sprays, and rollers; use wet film thickness gauges to achieve specified dry film thickness, and carry out minor repairs as needed
* Apply paints with attention to detail using different tools; work at heights and in confined spaces; erect scaffolding and ladders
* Clean equipment and work areas and support team members to ensure projects are completed on time and in accordance with specifications
Qualifications:
* Trade Certificate – Certificate III in Surface Preparation or equivalent
* High-risk licence for EWP and/or Forklift
* Trade qualifications in Protective Coatings (ACA, NACE, ICorr, or other trade certificates)
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
* Ability to meet strict deadlines
* Strong communication skills
* Keen attention to detail
* Self-motivated, organized, punctual, and reliable
* Strong work ethic
This role offers a salary between $75,000 and $80,000 per annum plus superannuation.
