Job Title: Manager, NGO Accountability
The role of the Manager, NGO Accountability is a critical leadership position within the Partnerships unit of the Strategy, Policy & Commissioning division.
This position is responsible for overseeing financial reviews, audits, and assurance activities for funded non-governmental organization (NGO) service providers to ensure compliance with funding agreements and the responsible use of public resources.
The Manager supports the integrity and effectiveness of the department's funding programs by leading a dedicated team and engaging with both internal and external stakeholders.
The role also drives continuous improvement in financial accountability and contributes to the department's overarching mission of delivering safe, just, and inclusive services across New South Wales.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead a small team conducting financial reviews, audits, and assurance activities for funded NGOs.
* Oversee the annual accountability process and provide expert financial advice to contract managers.
* Ensure compliance with funding agreements to safeguard public resources.
* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen financial oversight frameworks and promote continuous improvement in financial accountability.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A relevant tertiary qualification in finance or accounting.
* Full membership of a professional accounting body.
* Demonstrated experience in nonprofit financial management and prudential oversight.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* A high level of integrity and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
