**Your new company**
A statutory authority responsible for protecting the environment. You'll work in the Science Division based in Melbourne.
**Your new role**
Reporting to the Manager, you'll:
- Lead and manage a team responsible for providing scientific response services during an incident or emergency to aid with rapid scientific understanding of risks
- Provide technical specialist advice on pollution and emergency response for - Air, Water, Land, and Projects
- Coordinate the Incident Air Monitoring (IAM), Community Smoke Monitoring (CSM) and Incident Environmental Monitoring (IEM) capability to provide rapid response monitoring and investigation for air, water and contaminated land, enabling improved scientific advice during emergency incidents
**What you'll need to succeed**
You'll have tertiary qualifications in environmental science/applied science/engineering, as well as:
- Senior level experience working within Victoria's emergency management arrangements
- Knowledge of techniques to monitor the environment and to use scientific equipment relevant for environmental chemistry and/or monitoring
