Family Support Practitioner
About the Role
This role involves providing comprehensive support to families through culturally appropriate and trauma-informed engagement, information gathering, planning processes, and active involvement in decision-making.
Your Key Responsibilities
* You will empower families to share their story in a way that respects their identity and cultural heritage.
* You will work closely with families, linking them with essential services and stakeholders to provide a wraparound response addressing their identified needs.
What You'll Need
To succeed in this role, you'll require:
* A strong understanding of the impact of colonization, intergenerational trauma, and other issues affecting Aboriginal families, children, and young people.
* A diploma qualification in Community Services, Social Work, Nursing, or substantial experience in these fields.
* A well-developed ability to work in a culturally respectful and competent manner, fostering and maintaining cultural connections with Aboriginal families and communities.
* The capacity to apply evidence-informed practice approaches, including the Cultural and Common Elements framework.
