About the role:
As part of the Enterprise Platforms Team you will be responsible for the operational health, stability, and prioritisation of the enterprise network platform. This role provides clear day-to-day direction to the MSP, owns incident and change outcomes, and ensures network services are reliable, predictable, and fit for purpose. The Network Platform Lead assesses risk, manages lifecycle and end-of-life remediation, and acts as the primary escalation point for network-related issues supporting both MSP and Network Engineers.
Typical Responsibilities will include:
* End-to-end ownership of:
o LAN, WAN, SD-WAN
o Routing, switching, network segmentation
o Internet connectivity and carrier services
* Ensure network availability, performance, and resilience
* Provide leadership, support and technical escalation point
* Accountability for risk management plans/processes and successfully implements/operate them across teams.
* Set daily priorities for all network-related BAU work
* Provide clear direction to MSP engineers
* Reviewing, accepting, rejecting, or reprioritising work requests
* Incident & major fault coordination pertaining to networking platforms
* Network lifecycle planning, end of life / end of support remediation
* Vulnerability and Patch Management
* Provide ownership and guidance of network and policies, procedures, design and configurations.
* Work alongside Architecture and project teams on network design and effort estimations
About you:
Your technical experience across multiple network platforms and solutions ensures that issues and incidents are coordinated with clear focus and direction, resulting in a quick identification and resolution and that tasks are prioritised to ensure business continuity. You are highly adept in ensuring risks are identified and tracked, and platforms are continuously optimised and reviewed for stability and reliance
Knowledge and Experience:
* Demonstrated knowledge of IP networking and networking protocols.
* Demonstrated knowledge of LAN/WAN networking and DNS technologies.
* Demonstrated knowledge of Cisco products (switch/routing, UCS, WLCs, Meraki, ThousandEyes, ISE, Prime, VXLAN / EVPN)
* Demonstrated knowledge in network principles and technical understanding of IT security related technologies.
* Knowledge of frameworks relevant to role.
* Strong Communication skills, including the ability to write procedural, process and reporting documentation.
* Show initiative and the ability work with minimal supervision
