 
        
        OverviewWe currently have an opportunity to join our Retirement and Legacy team as a Legacy Portfolio Actuary in a permanent position. 
This role is based in Melbourne with hybrid work-from-home options. 
The team manages a diverse range of off-sale and legacy product portfolios and oversees pricing for the legacy portfolio and retirement solutions, contributing to strategic management and value delivery for Acenda's legacy products.The role sits within the Retirement & Off-Sale team and contributes to pricing, product development, and alignment with broader business objectives. 
You will help shape retirement product solutions that meet customer needs and drive long-term value.ResponsibilitiesLegacy Products (Annuities, Unit-Linked, Capital Guarantee and Traditional): regular reporting to the Unit Pricing Management Committee; surrender value verification and special calculations for Traditional business; development and maintenance of calculations for use in Acenda's systems and calculators; regular maintenance of reference data for system calculations; monitoring of compliance of surrender values with Life Insurance Act requirements; proactively manage risk and ensure policy and compliance requirements are met; perform controls and escalate issues as needed.Retirement Solution: carry out duties in a professional and ethical manner with compliance to external legislation and internal policies; develop pricing tools and databases for analysis and decision making; maintain profitability of Retirement Solutions products; maintain pricing processes and infrastructure to manage financial, actuarial and operating risks; provide technical support and mentoring to junior analysts; run smaller ad-hoc pricing projects and initiatives.General: explain technical results to business stakeholders; develop analytical and problem-solving skills; build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders; work effectively in a fast-paced environment; demonstrate good verbal, written and presentation skills; ability to work both independently and as part of a team.About youNear-qualified or newly-qualified actuary with 1 year of life insurance experience.Expert in Microsoft Excel, VBA, and R or other statistical software; ability to apply analytical tools to business contexts.Strong communication skills to explain technical results to stakeholders; effective problem-solving abilities; good interpersonal skills to influence and resolve issues.Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and maintain stakeholder relationships; ability to work autonomously and as part of a team in a quick-paced environment.Good verbal, written and presentation skills.Why join AcendaWe do work that makes a genuine difference to our customers, partners and community.Supportive, inclusive and flexible team culture with hybrid working options.Opportunities for growth and development across business units and teams.Recognition and incentive programs to reward successes.Tools, resources and benefits to support wellbeing, including additional lifestyle leave.Diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging are embedded in how we do business, with employee groups and volunteer leave; commitment to sustainability.Additional informationWe celebrate diversity and encourage applications from people of all backgrounds, cultures, experiences, and identities.
