Connecting the right people in ICT, to the right projects, at the right time | Government, Regulated Industries & TechnologyOur client is a federal statutory agency seeking a Senior OpenShift Administrator for an initial 12-month contract, with the possibility of up to 24 months of extensions. This role offers hybrid work-from-home arrangements and can be based in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, or Adelaide.
You will provide technical support, troubleshoot issues, and automate solutions to ensure the stable and efficient operation of OpenShift environments. The role requires a proven ability to lead cloud projects, mentor junior staff, and integrate seamlessly into a complex, dynamic team environment.
Responsibilities Design, deploy, manage, and troubleshoot OpenShift and Kubernetes clusters, ensuring high availability, reliability, and scalability.Support developers in automating deployment, scaling, and management of containerised applications using OpenShift, GitOps, and CI/CD pipelines.Manage cluster operations, including upgrades, resource allocation, configuration, and capacity planning, ensuring optimal performance and resource utilisation.Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and Helm to support scalable cloud infrastructure.Ensure OpenShift security by applying best practices, including vulnerability scanning, network segmentation, and role-based access control.Lead technical teams in OpenShift projects, mentor junior engineers, and manage project timelines and deliverables.Collaborate with developers, architects, and business stakeholders to align operations with business goals.Maintain comprehensive documentation of systems, processes, and best practices, and share knowledge with the team.On-call duties may be required in exceptional circumstances; out-of-hours support may also be necessary for maintenance.The successful candidate must hold or be able to obtain an NV1 security clearance and a Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration (or equivalent) within 3-6 months. At least 5 years' experience in OpenShift/Kubernetes cluster administration, including networking, security, storage, and troubleshooting in containerised environments, is required.
