Offer description

Mungabareena Aboriginal Corporation is seeking a dedicated Family Services Practitioner to deliver a range of programs supporting families with children aged 0-17.

These programs include Family Services and placement prevention/reunification services such as Changing Futures and Stronger Families. The aim of Child and Family Services is to provide in-home and community interventions of varying intensities, tailored to family needs, in a child-centred, family-focused manner. In this key role, you will:

1. Provide quality interventions and services focused on outcomes for families experiencing vulnerability, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children.
2. Offer education and practical support to families to enhance parenting skills and capacity, reducing risk factors impacting child safety.
3. Promote and engage with Aboriginal-controlled organisations and families, emphasizing culture as a safety factor for children.
4. Deliver intensive outreach to families, focusing on the safety and wellbeing of children and young people within their family homes.
5. Conduct regular risk and needs assessments and case management using frameworks such as the Best Interest Framework, focusing on safety, stability, and wellbeing.
6. Engage actively with children, young people, and families, including resistant ones, through flexible, responsive, strengths-focused, and creative approaches.
7. Contribute to a learning environment and cohesive multidisciplinary team through meetings, staff development, supervision, and reflective practice.
8. Build strong working relationships with partners, including Aboriginal services, to ensure cultural safety and promote the best outcomes.
9. Work collaboratively within a care team and relevant stakeholders, including Child Protection, to achieve optimal outcomes.
10. Meet program obligations regarding caseloads, targets, case recording, statistics, and data collection.
