Job Summary
This is an exciting opportunity to work with vulnerable children and their families, providing vital support and services to help them overcome adversity.
Key Responsibilities
* Case Management: Engage with children and families to determine eligibility for relevant programs and facilitate referrals to other services as required.
* Assessment and Response: Provide a high-level assessment and case management response to children and families experiencing homelessness and family violence, aligned with the practice framework.
* Trauma-Informed Practice: Deliver trauma-informed and culturally safe child-focused responses, including art-based activities, parenting support, case management, and advocacy.
* Support Services: Support children and families with complex needs accessing homelessness support in crisis, transitional, or emergency accommodation.
* Risk Planning: Assess and collaborate on risk planning related to family violence, neglect, and abuse.
* Case Conferences: Facilitate case conferences and work proactively with children, families, and supports to achieve case plan goals.
* Group Work Programs: Develop and lead specialist group work programs for children who have experienced homelessness, including activities and parenting programs.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will require a relevant tertiary qualification, experience working with children and families, and knowledge of child development and attachment theory. You will also need to demonstrate leadership skills, ability to build positive relationships, and commitment to the values of the organization.
You will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including children, families, and community agencies.
