About the Role
We are seeking a kind, creative, and empathetic Female Disability Support Worker to provide tailored support for a 40-year-old female client in Glenvale, Toowoomba. The client enjoys exploring creative activities, such as art and craft, and has a solid interest in maintaining a healthy lifestyle, including nutrition. As a Support Worker, you will help her thrive by incorporating these interests into daily activities, while offering emotional and practical support.
Roster
* Tuesday: 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM (3 hours)
* Wednesday: 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM (4 hours)
* Thursday: 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM (4 hours)
* Friday: 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM (4 hours) & 3:30 PM to 7:00 PM (3.5 hours)
* Saturday: 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM (2 hours)
* Sunday: 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM (2 hours)
Rates start from Schads in home care rate 3.1 - $33.96 AM rate plus penalties for afternoon/evening and weekends/public holidays.
Key Responsibilities
* Use trauma-informed practices to provide thoughtful, sensitive care.
* Implement Therapeutic Crisis Intervention and Positive Behaviour Support strategies.
* Encourage and support healthy eating habits and discussions around nutrition.
* Actively engage in art and craft activities with the client to enhance her creativity.
* Provide emotional support, fostering a caring and empathetic environment.
* Offer active support to assist with daily living tasks, empowering the client to maintain her independence.
Essential Skills
* Experience supporting individuals with mental health needs.
* A compassionate and empathetic approach.
* Strong emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills.
* Interest in art and craft activities, as the client enjoys creative expression.
* Understanding of nutrition and healthy living practices.
Licences/Credentials
* Current First Aid and CPR certification.
* Valid driver's licence and vehicle with comprehensive insurance.
* Working with Children Check QLD / Blue Card.
* NDIS Worker Screening Check / Yellow Card.
* NDIS Quality Safety and You Certificate - modules completed online.
