Position
We are seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our Plastics, Burns and Hand Therapy team. This is a permanent position in the Victorian Adult Burns Service at The Alfred. The role is full time (80 hours per fortnight + monthly ADO); part-time or flexible working arrangements will be considered.
Responsibilities
* Provide assessment and early intensive rehabilitation to burns patients on the burns ward, in intensive care and in outpatients; opportunity for a small outpatient or inpatient hand therapy caseload.
* Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver person-centred interventions related to burn and upper limb injuries.
* Contribute to interdisciplinary goal setting to achieve optimal patient care.
* Demonstrate autonomy of practice at Grade 2 level; support patient-centred care, collaborative practice and evidence-based knowledge translation.
* Lead teaching, training and quality improvement activities within the Occupational Therapy Service; supervise and mentor junior staff, allied health assistants and/or students.
Skills and Experience
* Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in occupational therapy.
* Registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia, and eligibility for OTA membership.
* Clinical experience in client-centred, occupation-based service delivery in an acute setting (burns management or hand therapy desirable).
* Ability to evaluate and modify service delivery based on evidence-based practice.
* Experience working within an interdisciplinary team to provide high-quality rehabilitation.
* Experience supervising junior staff and students is highly desirable.
