About The Role
Stamford Plaza Brisbane is seeking a commercially experienced Financial Controller to join the Executive Leadership Team.
This is a leadership position accountable for protecting profitability, strengthening financial governance, and influencing operational performance across the property.
Reporting directly to the General Manager, with functional alignment to the CFO, you will act as the financial conscience of the hotel in challenging assumptions, interrogating variances, and ensuring disciplined commercial decision making.
The Mandate You Will Be Responsible For
* Driving P&L performance and margin protection
* Translating revenue strategy into financial flow‐through
* Managing labour cost discipline and departmental accountability
* Leading forecasting, budgeting and scenario modelling
* Evaluating CapEx and business cases for ROI and viability
* Safeguarding compliance across all statutory obligations
* Maintaining robust internal controls and audit readiness
* Leading and developing a high‐performing finance team
You will sit at the leadership table and contribute meaningfully to pricing, labour planning, capital investment and strategic direction. If you are looking for a role focused purely on month‐end reporting, this is not it.
What We Are Looking For
* Is CA or CPA qualified
* Has minimum 10 years' finance experience
* Has at least 3 years in a Financial Controller or senior finance leadership role within hospitality
* Understands hotel performance drivers beyond the balance sheet
* Is confident challenging operational stakeholders
* Operates with strong governance discipline and high integrity
* Can move comfortably between strategy and operational detail
You must be commercially decisive, analytically strong, and comfortable operating in a performance‐driven environment.
