The Site

WaterMarc Banyule, the largest aquatic and leisure facility in Victoria's northern region. This multi-activity regional facility serves the Greensborough community and surrounding suburbs. Facilities include an indoor 50-metre Olympic swimming pool, Learn to Swim pool. spa, sauna and steam room facilities and waterslide. Additional facilities include personal training, pool parties, childcare and a Health Link Café.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Business Operations Manager, the Venue Manager for WaterMarc Banyule will be fully accountable for the Centre’s operational, financial and program deliverables while delivering and driving exceptional customer service.

This is an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced Venue Manager to lead the team to deliver exceptional customer experience at this large facility. Responsible for the management of this fantastic facility, the team at the Centre and our local community, you are fully accountable for the Centre’s operational, financial and program deliverables.

As the Venue Manager for Watermarc Banyule, you will be required to identify, engage and collaborate with a network of key community members and groups that can assist in the implementation of aquatic programs that will enhance social capital.

You will identify local community needsand deliver programs for those within the disability, diversity and disadvantaged space. You will also be required to deliver a fundraising strategy for the Belgravia Foundation, with all funds providing programs, services and education that promote access to leisure within the Banyule City Council

Key Accountabilities

o Ensure the venue meets all service, financial and other outcomes expected by customers and stakeholders
o Ensure the safety and wellbeing of visitors and team members through effective planning and oversight of polices, processes and procedures
o Coach and develop your teams to deliver on KPIs through engagement, performance planning and individual development plans
o Achievement of budgeted net profit targets
o Maintain a high value relationship with the contract partner and key community stakeholders
o Implement a high value customer service proposition that addresses the needs of the client base
o Recruitment of energetic and passionate team members as required to compliment the team and the vision for the venue
o Train team members to ensure that knowledge and capability are at the required levels to enable staff to carry out their work and achieve their objectives
o Monitor team member career progression paths that lead to transparent and effective succession decisions when required
o Deliver great service and quality to customers
o Perform other duties as required by the company

About You

The successful incumbent will;

o Demonstrate motivation, passion and willingness to undertake actions to actively support access and inclusion to all facilities, programs, services, and employment, for all members of the community
o Strong interpersonal skills
o Fantastic leader and coach
o A champion for change
o A passion for the role, the team, and guests
o Tertiary qualifications in a related field and/or extensive experience in
o Centre/Facility Management or senior management experience in a related industry
o Demonstrative experience leading a dynamic and complex business operation, preferably from within the leisure, fitness, aquatic, retail, hospitality or facility management industries

Essential qualifications

o Full time work rights in Australia
o Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
o Pool Lifeguard Certificate
o Obtain a valid Working with Children Check and National Police Check
