Cyber Business Analyst – Federal Government Location: Canberra, ACT
Clearance: Australian Citizenship mandatory, Baseline Security Clearance required
Contract Length: 12 Months + 12-Month Extension Option

Are you a skilled Business Analyst with a background in complex ICT environments? We're seeking an experienced professional to support high-impact initiatives across a large federal government department.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage business analysis activities within multidisciplinary teams.
* Conduct scoping, requirements definition, and prioritisation for complex initiatives.
* Engage with senior stakeholders to gather input, gain agreement, and resolve competing priorities.
* Translate stakeholder needs into functional requirements and deliverables, including process flows, models, and specifications.
* Analyse business processes and identify areas for improvement, automation, or transformation.
* Support the design and documentation of Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions including RBAC and privileged access management.
* Provide input into transition plans, feasibility assessments, and business cases.
* Ensure effective documentation and knowledge transfer in accordance with departmental policies.
Key Deliverables:
* Process maps and Business Requirements Specifications (BRS)
* Functional and Technical Specifications
* Transition and Implementation Plans
* Business Cases with Risk and Cost-Benefit Analysis
* Status and Progress Reports
Essential Criteria (SFIA Levels 4 & 5):
* Business Modelling – Advanced modelling across complex programs.
* Cyber security and Identity access Management (IAM) -Experience working on Cyber Security such asEssential 8, Domain Collapse, External Client Authorisation Service (ECAS) to the Secure Cloud Environment within AWS and enabling machine-to-machine (M2M) authentication and authorisation, Multi Factor Authentication for eMedical, Skillselect Enhancements and Multi Factor Authentication.
* Business Process Improvement – Identifying and implementing efficiency gains.
* Business Situation Analysis – Solving complex, ambiguous problems.
* Consultancy – Providing expert analysis and problem resolution.
* Feasibility Assessment – Evaluating options and supporting business cases.
* Requirements Definition & Management – Planning and managing the lifecycle of business requirements.
Desirable Skills:
* Experience advising on methods and tools in line with standards.
* Proven capability in providing specialist advice within ICT environments.
* Strong stakeholder relationship management experience across varied stakeholder groups.
