Position Summary
We are seeking an accomplished Sales Director to work closely with the CEO to scale the business and accelerate sales growth across key global markets. This role is responsible for expanding market share across both Wholesale and Retail channels, in alignment with the company's strategy for new markets and customer segments.
The Sales Director will provide strategic leadership and oversight of the Wholesale and Retail Marketing teams, ensuring clear revenue objectives are embedded within marketing plans and campaigns. A key focus will be driving revenue growth through the Loyalty Program and Customer Lifecycle initiatives .
The ideal candidate is a commercially astute E-Commerce and distribution leader with a proven ability to drive sustainable sales growth while improving cost efficiencies and overall profitability. Building and maintaining strong relationships within the global equine industry is critical to success in this role. International travel is required.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Growth Strategy
* Develop and execute clear, actionable strategies to grow Wholesale and Retail sales across all key global markets.
* Implement structured Key Account Management practices within the Wholesale team, embedding a growth-oriented mindset.
* Develop targeted action plans to support and grow top-tier accounts in each region.
* Define how Retail and Wholesale channels complement one another in each market and optimise the sales mix to improve overall profitability.
Marketing Oversight
* Oversee all sales-driven marketing activities, establishing clear KPIs and revenue targets aligned to the overall sales strategy.
* Collaborate with Marketing to deliver region-specific growth plans, including digital campaigns, trade shows, industry events, partnerships, and sponsorships.
* Support marketing initiatives for key accounts within the Loyalty Program.
Key Account & Relationship Management
* Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with key Stockists globally.
* Partner cross-functionally to enhance the customer experience across all stages of the Customer Lifecycle, particularly for new product launches and after-sales service.
* Gather and leverage market insights to drive both short-term wins and long-term sales growth.
Stakeholder Management
* Develop and maintain a comprehensive Stakeholder Management Plan outlining key activities, status updates, and support requirements for Stockists, with a focus on key accounts.
* Provide monthly reporting via a Stakeholder Dashboard, highlighting progress, risks, and issue analysis.
Stockist Acquisition & Development
* Design and implement a robust Stockist acquisition strategy and roadmap.
* Lead negotiations for contracts, pricing, and commercial terms with key accounts as required.
* Analyse and optimise the Stockist customer journey, leveraging data, technology, and reporting to drive improvements.
Sales Innovation & Optimisation
* Identify and implement opportunities to innovate the sales function through automation, new technologies, and external vendors.
* Drive improvements in freight, distribution, and logistics to deliver cost efficiencies, volume growth, and enhanced customer convenience.
Reporting & Governance
* Provide monthly reports to the CEO and Board outlining performance against sales strategy and plans.
* Clearly link sales performance to marketing activity effectiveness and outcomes.
What We're Looking For
* Proven track record of scaling international sales, ideally within E-Commerce, distribution, or consumer brands.
* Demonstrated success in key account management, channel development, and building strong commercial partnerships.
* Strong people leadership skills with the ability to inspire, align, and drive performance across cross-functional teams.
* Exceptional commercial acumen with strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities.
* Experience in the equine, sporting goods, or lifestyle industries will be highly regarded.
