About the role
WA Country Builders is seeking a talented Designer to join their team in Perth, Western Australia. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for producing high-quality designs that bring the company's vision to life. As a crucial member of the design team, you will play a key part in delivering innovative and functional projects that meet the needs of our clients.
Duties
* Provide a high level of technical design support to staff and other departments
* Ensure all designs align with the client brief, budget, residential design codes and relevant Local Government planning policies
* Act as a positive and collaborative team member, contributing to the vision and mission of the business
* Support the Design Manager in achieving divisional strategic objectives and play a meaningful role in the brands' strategy and marketing direction
* Demonstrate flexibility when attending and conducting client meetings alongside Sales Representatives, accurately capturing design briefs
* Produce designs that meet client expectations while remaining within budget
* Produce and review designs and 3D models that embody the vision and principles of the brands
* Provide technical support and assistance to sales for r-codes and local government requirements
* Interpret design information provided by the client to produce design concepts and models suitable for estimating and submission to local government authorities for development approval
* Ensure all documentation complies with the Building Code of Australia, Residential Design Codes and local government authority requirements and policies
Skills and Experience
* Extensive experience using ArchiCAD software
* 10 years design and construction experience in a similar role gained in a design/building office
* Associate Diploma in Architecture (Drafting), Certificate IV in Residential design with preferred Diploma in building Design or Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or equivalent HIA Greensmart Professional
* Produce high quality detailed documentation within a reasonable period of time
* Demonstrated knowledge of CAD (preferably ArchiCAD)
* Sound knowledge and understanding of current and future design trends and construction methods
* Analytical problem solver who is self-motivated, reliable and demonstrates a strong belief in teamwork
