Description
Event volunteers are a vital part of ensuring the smooth delivery of the 2026 Santos Wheelchair Rugby World Challenge. General volunteers assist with delivery of spectator services, access control, ticketing and merchandise sales and school holiday program support throughout the duration of the event. Without volunteers, the event simply would not succeed.
The 2026 Santos Wheelchair Rugby World Challenge will be held in Adelaide at the State Basketball Centre from 23 - 26 April 2026. Volunteer shifts are available from 22 - 26 April 2026.
Responsibilities
Volunteers may be asked to assist in achieving the following key responsibilities:
Spectator Services & Access ControlAssisting spectators with questions and escalating questions to the Volunteer ManagerAssisting in ushering spectators to seatingChecking accreditations to restricted areas at the venueSchools Holiday ProgramAssisting with ushering the school holiday program participants in the venue and from their transport.Assisting with wayfinding to amenities at the venueAssisting with engagement activities set up and ongoing managementAssisting the Schools Program Manager with program activities (athlete meet and greets and signature sessions)Team LogisticsAssisting with getting teams on and off the field of play (this may require assisting with equipment, managing spectators in thoroughfares, etc.)Ticketing & MerchandiseAssisting with selling and distribution of tickets and merchandise at the venueReplenishing stock and reporting trends and questions to Event StaffTransportAssist with flow of participations and teams to arranged transportRemain on standby at the venue to assist with emergency transport trips (i.e. to team accommodations)
