Overview
Kickstart your career in animal care by applying for this Traineeship with the South Burnett Regional Council.
The Kingaroy based opportunity will be full-time for 12 months commencing Monday 2 February 2026 and will include the completion of a Cert III in Animal Care Services.

The Duties
Assist with day-to-day activities in the care of animals within the Council's South Burnett Animal Management Centre.
Provide a high level of customer service to both internal and external clients.
Complete Cert III in Animal Care Services.
Maintain a record of training achieved.
Maintain a safe, clean and tidy workplace.
Complete other reasonable activities and directions as needed.
The Requirements
Minimum successful completion of year 10.
A commitment to learn new skills and complete formal qualifications.
Sound comprehension and numeracy skills.
The ability to follow directions and work with minimal supervision as required.
Sound communication skills
Proven team player qualities.
A minimum current "C" class driver licence.
A commitment to safety in the workplace
Additional Application Requirements
The recruitment process for this Traineeship will include:

Selected eligible applicants will then be invited by email to attend one of several group information sessions to further discuss the opportunity, complete a basic comprehension / numeracy assessment and a selection criteria questionnaire.

Pre-employment Assessments
Prior to commencement, the successful applicant will be required to complete a pre-employment medical assessment which will include drug and alcohol testing.
