Exciting leadership opportunity to lead financial operations including rates, revenue and accounts payable in one of the largest Councils in NSW. Permanent full-time role based in Wyong with hybrid and flexible working arrangements availableCollaborative and supportive teamAttractive remuneration package including leaseback or vehicle allowance available About The Role The Section Manager Financial Operations will provide day to day leadership to a team of professionals responsible for the delivery of the functions for rates, revenue and accounts receivable and accounts payable. The role is accountable for all the routine deliverables of these functions and will be required to actively contribute to strategies aimed at Council’s financial sustainability through policies and processes that achieve best value for Council. This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community. To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Have Degree qualification in Business, Finance or relevant field OR demonstrated solid contemporary experience in similar role combined with ongoing professional developmentExtensive experience in a similar role with demonstrated extensive experience in financial operations include rates and revenue, accounts receivable, credit management and other transactional financial operationsSignificant experience in rates and financial modellingDemonstrated strong leadership capabilities and behaviours, including active communication with the team in regard to performance, business strategy, diversity, coaching/ mentoring and change managementComprehensive knowledge of the Local Government Act 1993, Valuation of Land Act 1916 and relevant regulations and industry guidelines (as may be amended from time to time) in relation to rates, charges, services and accounting requirementsProven ability to assess, interpret and judge information or situations, and formulate recommendations, provide specialist advice or deliver a service, based on the findingsDemonstrated experience in strategic thinking, innovation and promotion of continuous workplace improvement, and working in a politically sensitive environment.
