About This Role
As a Therapy Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the well-being and quality of life for our residents. You will work closely with Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists to deliver high-quality therapy services that address the physical, cognitive, social, and emotional needs of our residents.
This is a casual position that requires flexibility to cover planned and unplanned leave. You will be working in our Juniper Karinya facility based in Embelton, Western Australia.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and Implement Programs: Assist in creating programs that cater to the diverse needs of our residents, promoting their physical, cognitive, social, and emotional growth.
* Support Resident Independence: Encourage and support residents in maximizing their abilities, enabling them to participate in daily activities and maintain functional independence.
* Create a Positive Environment: Contribute to creating a safe, engaging, and positive environment for all residents, with a focus on those requiring specialized dementia support.
* Collaborate with Therapists: Work alongside therapists to maintain and improve residents' functional independence through targeted interventions.
* Maintain Accurate Records: Monitor and report on residents' progress during therapy sessions, providing feedback to therapists on intervention outcomes and maintaining accurate daily records of therapy activities.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Therapy Assistant Course Completion: Highly regarded completion of a Therapy Assistant course.
* Experience as a Therapy Assistant: Highly regarded experience working as a Therapy Assistant.
* Aged Care Industry Experience: Desirable experience working in the Aged Care industry, either in community or residential settings.
* Verbal and Written Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with staff, residents, consumers, families, and service providers.
