Aboriginal Mental Health Clinician Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Aboriginal Mental Health Clinician to join our multidisciplinary team.
Job Description:
Our ideal candidate will provide recovery-focused, person-centred and culturally competent services including assessment, care coordination, intervention, liaison, advocacy and review for both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people referred to the service with mental illness, distress and/or risk issues.
* Providing high-quality, safe and connected care to consumers and their families and carers in a person-centred and holistic manner that promotes self-determination and is in context of the principles of mental health rehabilitation, recovery framework and a strengths-based approach.
Key Responsibilities:
* Engaging and collaborating with consumers, their families and carers and other stakeholders.
* Utilizing high level computer skills including accuracy and knowledge of Electronic Medical Record Programs, Microsoft Office Programs.
* Demonstrating knowledge and understanding of the Mental Health & Alcohol and Other Drugs strategic directions in service provision, including those related to Aboriginal People and their communities.
* Knowledge and understanding of the legislation and policies relating to Mental Health care provision, including the Mental Health Act 2007.
Requirements:
* Current unrestricted drivers' licence and ability to maintain. Ability and willingness to drive/travel as the role requires, which may involve driving long distances and overnight stays.
