Azooa is seeking a highly capable
Senior Services Engineer (Level 3 – Advanced Practitioner)
to support the
Coalition Test Environment (CTE)
within the
Land Network Integration Centre (LNIC)
as part of the Army's Land Capability Executive. This role is offered under the Defence Support Services (DSS) Panel and involves complex system administration, integration, and stakeholder engagement within secure coalition-focused environments.
About the Role
This position provides expert technical support to evolve and maintain the CTE — a deployable ICT environment originally built by LNIC and now maintained by Defence ICT (D-ICT). The CTE enables operational information sharing among Five Eyes (FVEY) nations and aligns with the Mission Partner Environment (MPE).
You'll be responsible for ensuring the CTE remains technically aligned, secure, and operationally ready. The role includes full lifecycle support from design to testing, mentoring, and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain and update CTE design and configuration documentation
* Administer and support:
* Windows Server 2016+, Exchange 2016+, SQL Server 2016+, SharePoint 2016+
* VMware 7+, MECM, Windows 11+ environments
* Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, PKI, and AD FS
* Implement and maintain ISM and Essential Eight security controls
* Support configuration management and integration testing
* Deliver Level 3 technical support to users during exercises and operations
* Participate in T&E events, field trials, and innovation projects
* Mentor ADF personnel and deliver just-in-time training during activities
* Draft and maintain CIS artefacts: JMEI, CWAN, NETOPS instructions
* Engage with stakeholders across D-ICT, ADF, APS, and other contractors
* Produce post-activity assessments and risk reports
Essential Skills & Experience
* Deep technical experience with:
* Windows Server, Exchange, SQL Server, SharePoint
* VMware 7+, MECM
* Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, AD FS, PKI
* LAN/WAN design, IP addressing, network segmentation
* Strong understanding of ISM-compliant security and Essential Eight mitigation strategies
* Ability to configure and manage SOEs based on Defence environments
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Strong interpersonal skills with proven experience working with Defence stakeholders
* NV1 clearance (minimum), with ability to upgrade to NV2
Desirable Experience
* Administration of Linux servers in secure Defence environments
* Familiarity with SIEM tools, system logs, and cyber anomaly detection
* Experience with:
* Cisco Unified Call Manager, Cisco Meeting Server
* ADF networks: P-BTN, I-BTN, DWAN, MCSS
* Tactical networks, mission command systems, and COP platforms
* Cross-domain solution integration (e.g., MPE to DSN)
* Experience supporting Defence exercises or coalition engagement activities
Role Details
* Primary location: LNIC Facility, Symonston (ACT)
* Full-time (up to 230 days/year), single key-person engagement
* Probation period: 3 months
* Travel: domestic and international travel may be required (Defence funded)
* Access to Defence ICT environments, systems, and facilities will be provided onsite
* All work must comply with APS Code of Conduct, security standards, WHS, and equity policies
* No shared services or team proposals will be accepted
