The Opportunity
We are seeking a dynamic, experienced, and compassionate person to lead our well-established Boarding House community. Commencing in 2026 and based in Launceston, this pivotal role is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and daily operations of the Boarding House, ensuring that our team delivers the highest quality care, supervision, and support to boarders from Grade 5 to Grade 12.
As Head of Boarding, you will play a key role in the life of our school—fostering a safe, nurturing, and vibrant community where boarders flourish academically, socially, and personally.
Applicants will have:
* Proven experience working within day and boarding school environments (regional boarding highly regarded).
* Demonstrated ability to provide pastoral care for students from Grade 5–12.
* Strong leadership experience in managing and developing staff teams.
* Skills in social perceptiveness, active listening, negotiation, critical thinking, customer service, time management, and communication.
* Personal attributes of integrity, adaptability, cooperation, initiative, and genuine concern for others.
* Current Australian Boarding Schools Association Duty of Care accreditation (or eligibility).
* Current Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Tasmania) (or eligibility).
* Current first aid qualification (HLTAID012), or willingness to undertake training.
* Current driver's licence (passenger vehicle licence desirable).
If also teaching:
* Tertiary qualifications in Education.
* Current registration with the Tasmanian Teachers Registration Board (or eligibility).
