About the role
We're seeking a talented interior designer to join our Melbourne studio, working across residential and commercial client projects. You'll provide design consultation and develop cohesive interior concepts that reflect the MCM House aesthetic — collaborating closely with our commercial projects team on hospitality, retail, and residential environments.
Key responsibilities
* Consult with clients to determine spatial, functional, and aesthetic requirements for residential and commercial interiors
* Develop interior design concepts that optimise spatial planning, functionality, and the MCM House design philosophy
* Prepare proposals including mood boards, material palettes, concept imagery, and furniture specifications
* Recommend and specify furniture, lighting, textiles, finishes, and materials appropriate to each project
* Develop layout concepts and furniture placement plans to support design proposals
* Collaborate with the commercial projects team on hospitality, retail, and residential interiors
* Prepare sketches, visual references, and layout documentation to communicate design intent
* Liaise with suppliers, manufacturers, and internal teams to ensure specifications align with project requirements
* Assist in the preparation of design documentation and furniture schedules for project implementation
* Maintain current knowledge of interior design trends, materials, finishes, and furniture design
