About The Role
Are you an experienced logistics professional who thrives in a dynamic, hands-on role with the ability to work autonomously whilst having the support of a larger Logistics team? We're looking for a proactive and detail-driven Logistics Store person to join our team to support the Starflight operation that will provide Aeromedical, SAR and Aviation Law Enforcement services to the people and state of Tasmania.
This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday, some weekend, and on-call work may be required from time to time to meet operational requirements.
You'll play a vital role in keeping our aviation operations running smoothly by managing Starflight's Engineering Logistics, Hazardous Goods, and Quarantine Store. This encompasses tasks such as procuring parts and materials, inventory control, and fulfilling administrative needs.
Your Key Duties Will Include
* Inventory Management: oversee the inventory within the logistics store. This involves accurately tracking receipts and issues of parts and materials, maintaining optimal stock levels, and implementing strategies to minimize waste and optimize storage space.
* Store Upkeep: maintain the upkeep of the store, ensuring that all parts and materials are stored appropriately and safely, and that the overall environment complies with relevant safety and regulatory standards.
* Data Management: Use our Inventory System to accurately log all purchases, issues, and transfers. Attention to detail is a must to ensure data integrity and traceability.
* Compliance: maintain strict adherence to Stores Procedures. A sound understanding of logistics protocols and a commitment to compliance is essential in this role.
About You
You'll bring previous experience in a logistics role, ideally within the aviation industry or have a strong background in all aspects of logistics such as procurement, inventory control, and material handling.
To be successful in this role, you'll need the following skills and attributes:
* Solid knowledge of incoming goods procedures, including purchase orders and receipting
* Experience in accurate picking and packing within tight timeframes
* Proven ability to manage stock levels and maintain inventory accuracy
* A customer-focused approach to procurement, meeting stakeholder needs efficiently and cost-effectively
* Experience managing international and domestic freight, including documentation and process requirements
* Confidence working with Hazardous Goods and understanding safe storage, packaging, and dispatch protocols
* Ability to conduct effective, accurate stocktakes and a knowledge of stock rotation and shelf-life parameters
* Competent in Microsoft Office Suite
* A mindset for continuous improvement and a sharp eye for identifying better ways to work
* A can-do attitude, driven to get the job done safely while working within legislative and procedural guidelines
* Strong communication skills and a genuine interest in building and maintaining effective working relationships
* Current Forklift Licence is essential
* Aviation Australia AA-43 Goods Receipt and Dispatch Course (highly desirable
