Job Description
We currently have an opportunity for an Executive Officer.
The Executive Officer:

* Manages the office of the Deputy Director General.
* Provides effective and efficient direct confidential executive, administrative, research and secretarial support to the Deputy Director General and the Divisional executive group.
* Provides a liaison and coordination role across the department and external organisations on behalf of the Deputy Director General.
* Provides secretariat support to the Corporate Management Committee.

Selection Criteria
Applicants should address the following four (4) essential criteria. These should be addressed in no more than three (3) pages in total.
* High level experience in providing confidential administrative support at a senior executive level, with proven ability to work independently applying discretion, tact, initiative, and sound judgement to prioritise work, anticipate requirements, resolve problems, and manage competing demands.
* Considerable experience liaising with, and managing requests from, external bodies such as ministerial offices, and experience in preparing documentation for departmental participation in parliamentary processes and other forums.
* Demonstrated interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, including the ability to liaise across a large organisation with staff at all levels and build productive relationships.
* Considerable experience providing secretariat support to committees, including preparation of agendas and papers, taking minutes, and arranging meeting logistics.
