The Role
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join our team, based in Winston Hills. Reporting to the Group Employee Relations and Payroll Manager, this role is primarily responsible for the administration and processing of company weekly & monthly payroll.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Processing end to end payroll for weekly and monthly employees
* Ensure payments to employees are in line with the employment contract or enterprise agreements that are relevant for each employee
* Payment of payroll deductions to external parties i.e., superannuation, child support, garnishees etc
* Keeping leave entitlement records up to date
* Provide payslips to employees
* Assist with processing of workers compensation payments and administration
* Respond to employee's payroll related queries in a prompt and efficient manner
* Preparation of Month End and Year End reporting as required
* Other duties as directed by management
The Ideal Candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
* Minimum 2-3 years' experience in a similar role
* MicrOpay experience - highly regarded
* Experience in civil/ construction - highly regarded
* Understanding of Taxation Laws about PAYG, Payroll Tax, Superannuation & LSL
* Understanding of Awards, Letters of Appointment, Certified Agreements, IR Legislation
* A strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
* Effective organisational & time management skills
* Good oral & written communication skills
