Our client is seeking two Intermediate Accountants to join their high-performing team here in Wollongong. Get exposure to banking and finance and international debt capital markets, domestic banking and finance sector and become a Finance Expert in Structured Trade Finance Accounting over time. As an Intermediate Accountant, you'll be the backbone of the financial controllership, ensuring precision across complex transactions.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- General Ledger and Loan Management System Accounting and Reconciliation
- Loan Processing - Accounting and Payments for current Loans and Settlements
- Accounting and Processing to GL Complex Adhoc Structured Loan Changes
- Bank and Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation - Daily, Monthly
- Follow Procedures and Policies with discipline and make suggestions for continuous procedure improvement
- Report to Supervisor - Finance Manager and Ultimately Chief Commercial Officer
- Regulatory and Audit Processes and Participation
- Growing exposure to CEO and external parties such as leading global banks, investment consulting firms and auditors over time.
We're looking for candidates who believe in discipline and controllership as the core of commercial accounting.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate Degree in Accounting (Essential)
- Begun studying and progressing through CPA or CA (Preferred)
- Minimum 3 Years Accounting Experience in Commerce (Preferred)
- Minimum 2 Year Accounting Experience in Big 4 Accounting Firm (Preferred)
- Ability to understand complex transactions in multiple systems and accurately account for them in GL and Loan Management System
- Excellent Verbal and Written CommunicationDiscipline to stick to procedures and believe in discipline and controllership as the back-bone of good commercial accounting.
- Learn current systems and processes quickly, identify controllership risk, solve to route cause.
- Work to due dates and achieve deadlines.
Salary and Compensation:
The role is budget for between $50,000 and $120,000 depending on experience with candidates who have completed studies with no experience on the low end and candidates who tick all the boxes on the high end.
