Our client is an international logistics business with a strong history supporting the supply chain network here in Australia. They are experiencing a period of rapid growth and are seeking a Transport Operations professional with strong sea freight importing background to join their Head Office team.
**The Role**:
Reporting to the National Freight Operations Manager, this position will arrange wharf cartage and brokerage deliveries and provide the best transport options while taking budget and customer operational requirements into consideration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Arrange wharf cartage for forwarding and brokerage shipments and work flow operations including: international freight forwarding, landside arrival ports coordination with wharf hauliers and/or container unpack services providers, road transport providers, follow up de-hire of containers.
- Using Cargowise 1 (CW1), ICS, 1-Stop and Containerchain systems as needed to effect and control work flow coordination.
- Complete and provide any reports for allocated national customers
- Respond to any cartage/transport related invoice queries.
- Manage/arrange any AQIS/Quarantine directions such as fumigation and tailgate inspections.
- Work closely with in-house customs department and import operations regarding clearance of shipments and receiving of EDO's.
**About You**:
- At least 2 years' experience in a similar role.
- Cargowise experience essential.
- Proven industry experience and knowledge, specifically relating to wharf cartage coordination from port of arrival to delivery sites (ocean and air).
- Prior experience with CW1, 1-Stop, ICS and Containerchain systems highly regarded.
- Knowledge/awareness of 3PL warehousing services and road transport services.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent communication and strong problem-solving skills.
