We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Health & Safety Advisor at our Vickery Open Cut operation, conveniently located a short 20-minute drive from Gunnedah. Gunnedah is a vibrant regional town with abundant walking trails, fishing, water sports, and various cafes and restaurants. The region is rich in history, featuring museums and Australian wildlife.


About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join us at our Vickery Open Cut mine. Reporting to the Superintendent – Health, Safety & Training, you will support the mine by promoting a positive health and safety culture through providing support, advice, coaching, and assisting in developing and implementing Whitehaven Coal's health and safety strategies.


What You'll Do

* Assist in developing and implementing internal health and safety strategies, plans, and policies.
* Facilitate and participate in incident investigations, risk assessments, and management of change processes.
* Monitor the site's emergency preparedness and response equipment and capabilities.
* Support and participate in site WHS Committee meetings, pre-start, and toolbox talks.
* Monitor compliance and provide ongoing support to Operations, Contractors, and Corporate Teams.


What You'll Bring

* Knowledge of NSW WHS Legislation and statutory requirements.
* Experience with Onsite & SharePoint or similar systems.
* A genuine passion to uphold the Whitehaven STRIVE values and contribute to a collaborative organizational culture.
* Experience in the mining industry.
